Visited Countries

I thought I’d travelled more. Apparently I’ve visited only 9% of the world’s countries. The map gives the false impression that I’ve been to Alaska and the far reaches of the northern Canadian wilds. I have not.
It’s also obvious that Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East are in serious need of my presence.

I think maybe it’s 9% of the total number of countries, rather than their size… in fact, let me just go check that.
Yep, I put in China and Russia for size, and got “you have visited 0% of countries”, added USA, Canada, Greenland and Australia for some more size and got 2% for six countries.
So then tried six small countries for comparison – Albania, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Liechtenstien, Luxembourg and the Vatican City – and again came up with 6%, despite only vaguely seeing their dots of red on the map.
Bleh, I’ve got four assignments to write on:
Augustine’s Confessions
Merovingian kings
Mass media in industrialised society
Transitional governments and new imperialism
Maybe it is time you pay a visit to Israel. Come, it will be a blast (hee-hee, not funny).
Bugger. No image appeared.

Well, I’ve got no blog anymore, so I’ll post the code here and see what happens. I’ve also visited 9% of the globe, it seems, though a different 9%. Damn those tiny countries I’ve visited! Damn them!
